Every midnight, your money gets ten times bigger. Day 1: $10. Day 15: more than everyone on Earth combined. And the deli guy won't take any of it for a sandwich.

What's real in this episode

  • the 10x ladder is a story, but the rules around it are real. Banks file secret Suspicious Activity Reports from $5,000 and can't tell you. Any cash over $10,000 gets reported, and splitting cash to dodge that report is a crime called structuring, even with clean money. New money raises prices first wherever it is spent (Richard Cantillon noticed this in 1755). And money only works while people agree to take it.
